Italy is a UN and EU member state and implements UN and EU sanctions and can also adopt autonomous national sanctions.
As regards export controls, Italy implements EU regulations on dual-use items and technology and goods which may be used for torture or the death penalty, and it autonomously regulates at the national level the trade and movement of military articles.
