The UK introduced its Irregular Migration sanctions regime in July 2025 under The Global Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Persons Sanctions Regulations 2025, which enables the UK to impose asset freezes and travel bans on individuals and entities involved in people trafficking, people smuggling, and using migration to destabilise other countries.
